Belize
Belize consists of over 400 islands of which only two have significant populations, Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye, the home of San Pedro. Bordered and accessible from Guatemala and Mexico. With only 400,000 people this former British colony is the only English speaking country in Central America, but its culture is predominantly Caribbean and Belizean Creole and Spanish are also widely spoken. Those Caribbean influences dominate the Islands with “Go Slow” being the motto of Caye Caulker. Beautiful sunsets, the largest blue hole in the world by surface area, amazing snorkelling and scuba diving in a protected marine environment make Belize a prime destination.
